Description
Museum Series Encausticbord is a finely textured, highly absorbent panel formulated for the unique demands of encaustic painting and mixed media. Encausticbord is made from our premium warp-resistant 1/8″ profile FSC-certified Hardbord™ that is protected with our proprietary Archiva-Seal™ and coated with a specially formulated gesso to form a bright, velvety surface that is ready to use for encaustic painting. Encausticbord is a collaboration between R&F Handmade Paints and Ampersand Art Supply.

Designed for the Demands of Encaustic
A specially formulated gesso forms a bright, velvety surface on warp-resistant Hardbord™ that is ready to use for encaustic painting. The ground is heat resistant, highly absorbent, and holds tight to layers of wax without the fear of cracking or separation.
Highly Versatile
The lightly textured, absorbent surface is great with mixed media and can be used with both wet and dry media.

Shipping & Delivery
Packaging
Every order is packaged in a way to protect your purchase. We have finessed this over the last 10 years to use fully-recyclable, non-plastic packaging that gives the biggest protection without using lots of resources. We do sometimes reuse packaging from stock deliveries, and this is the only time we will send with bubble wrap or other plastic packaging.
Shipping
We try to be as fair as possible with the postage pricing. We operate dynamic pricing, reflective of the current costs of sending post. The reason for our pricing structure is to ensure your parcel has the appropriate insurance and tracking to increase the chance of its safe delivery wherever you are in the world. The postage options that you receive are dependent upon what is in your basket and you will see them whilst processing your order. If you are unsure, please select the ‘Contact me’ option upon checking out, and I will get in touch so that we can proceed with your order.
December 2024 Update: Unfortunately we cannot send to anywhere in Europe or Northern Ireland at the present time. This is due to new product safety regulations. We hope that we will be able to ship there again in future. Everywhere else in the world is unaffected.
Any orders travelling outside of the U.K. require a customs declaration form. You will not be charged our U.K. VAT at 20%. When you go to check out and the website recognises you are not within the U.K., the VAT will not be billed to you. However, you will be charged your own country’s taxes and a handling charge when it reaches the destination country. This varies for each country. We are not responsible for any custom taxes or charges you have to pay on receiving your order. If you refuse the parcel on arrival and it is returned to us we will only refund the value of the goods minus 10% to cover the cost of administrating your order.
We will aim to despatch your order within 1-3 working days (Monday to Friday) after the order is received. Please be aware that I also work part-time alongside the business so cannot always respond immediately to email correspondence or messages. Same day despatch is not possible unless specifically requested by prior arrangement. We will keep you informed as to the status of your order.
