Isobel Buckley is a professional wildlife and pet portrait artist and a qualified teacher, who loves to share her passion for drawing and support others on their colour pencil journey.
Art has always been a big part of Isobel’s life and after achieving a fine arts degree, she went on to become a qualified teacher. It wasn’t until later on though, around 2010 that she discovered the world of colour pencils and hasn’t looked back since. Being able to combine her love of the precision of drawing with the colours of paint became her ultimate medium and having grown up in the countryside on a dairy farm, she has always been passionate about animals and nature.
After over 15 years spent teaching in schools, she decided to combine her love of colour pencils with helping others to learn and has built up an online art school Izzy’s School Of Art. Here she offers written and video tutorials, along with a membership called Draw Around The World In Colour Pencils where you can learn to draw various animals and nature from different countries. Alongside this, Isobel is also a guest artist for Ann Kullberg, who has published a couple of her tutorials and runs some online live workshops with her.
